Will Smith denies allegations of becoming a Scientologist

Will Smith has denied the rumours that he and wife, Jada Pinkett, have become Scientologists. Smith claimed that he is a Christian, but is a student of all religions, and respects all people and all paths. He went on to say “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You don’t have to be a Muslim to be a friend of Muhammed Ali. And you don’t have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise.”

The difference, of course, is that Jews and Muslims don’t have specific doctrines barring you from being friends with non-Jews or non-Muslims. My understanding is that the only way a scientologist is allowed to even talk to a non-scientologist is to try and convert them.
