Reader claims church sign “Lying in bed shouting Oh God doesn’t constitute going to church” had nothing to do with sex.

Admonishing readers to “get their minds out of the gutter”, Martha, who claims to be a member of the Heart Lake United Church asserts that the sign below has nothing do with sex.

Here is the relevant excerpt of Martha’s statement:

I am a member of this church and want to try to set the record straight. First of all the message on the sign was never meant in any sexual context but more to the fact that so many people wake up on a Sunday morning and say “oh God” I don’t want to get up to go to church….. Come on people–get your minds out of the gutter!

Give me a break. I hope this Martha person is just a joker. Because if she’s not, she’s ridiculous.

  1. Stoobs says:

    Ridiculous? I’d say charmingly naive.

  2. Ham says:

Issue #1: OF COURSE the sign is referring to sex. Issue #2: Sex between a husband and wife on a Sunday morning or any other time is more sacramental and holy than 99.9% of the church services going on anywhere in the USA. Why do you think people cry out “Oh, God” in the first place? Issue #3: A supposed member of this church tells us to get our minds out of the gutter?” This church equates married sex with garbage? No wonder Jesus wept!
