McCain’s bad temper and potty mouth

Posted by: RB on: April 7, 2008

The Raw Story has ran a story on Cliff Schecter’s soon-to-be-released book The Real McCain: Why Conservatives Don’t Trust Him – And Why Independents Shouldn’t. According to Schecter and Raw Story, McCain’s political path has been pathed in temper-tantrums and lined with obscenities. He is alleged to have called opponents and colleagues “shitheads”, “assholes”, and in at least one case “a fucking jerk”.

Schecter describes the most awe-striking comment:

In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.”

WOW!!!

The big question is: Can a person with this kind of temper be entrusted as President? Is it a safe bet to entrust the national interest with a hot-head? Luckily, this is a non-issue as the Democrats appear to have this election pretty-well locked up.

And then there is McCain’s self acknowleged superstitiousness. How will that affect his decision-making?
