In a recent appearance on Meet the Press, Mike Huckabee was called on his earlier writing that homosexuality, in his opinion, is “an aberrant, unnatural and sinful lifestyle”. His response to this was nothing short of artful, but nevertheless leaves intact his faith-based argument for the inherent moral inferiority of homosexuality. Here is how he defends himself to host Tim Russert and the viewers:

“Tim, understand that when a Christian speaks of sin, A Christian says that all of us are sinners. I’m a sinner. Everybody’s a sinner. What one sin is, means it’s missing the mark. It’s missing the bullseye. The perfect point. I miss it every day. We all do. The perfection of God is seen in a marriage in which one man one man live together as a couple committed to each other as life partners.”
